It's autumn in Paris! A burst of blue sky allows us to prolong the feeling of summer and the pleasant sensation of strolling outdoors. We love to enjoy the banks of the Seine, watching the cruise boats and feeling the sun's rays warming our skin, as well as giving the river a romantic film-like atmosphere. As we approach the end of October, this Indian summer is good for our morale and our imagination.

Even if it means dreaming of a return to summer, with its warmth and relaxation, there is a great desire to remember the highlights of the City of Paris during this year's Olympic Games. The celebrations for the 2024 Olympic Games were a shining showcase for the French capital, illuminating its most beautiful monuments and legendary symbols - the Louvre Palace, Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Alexandre III Bridge... And the Eiffel Tower, of course! The boat parade on the Seine remains etched in our memories, both for its originality and its enthusiasm. This grandiose parade of athletes from all nations, colourful artists and majestic decorations, dubbed the ‘Olympic Seine’, put the spotlight on what JP'S Boat's private cruises on the Seine offer during the summer months.

The Seine and Paris' iconic landmarks were showcased on this occasion, revealing to the world the many treasures the city has to offer. During the famous opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games, nearly a billion people around the world were able to discover the beauty of Paris on their screens and understand its motto, Fluctuat nec mergitur, ‘tossed by the waves but never sunk’, because despite the climatic and political uncertainties facing the city, Paris is facing up to them and showing the best of its history.

What conclusions can be drawn from the summer season, during which the French capital was the focus of international media and sporting attention? In terms of tourism, image and symbols, it seems that the gamble has paid off! The City of Light has restored its reputation, the Olympic Games were a success, and its openness to the arts, cultures and different nations spreads a message of tolerance and vitality in France and around the world. The numerous illustrations of the Seine and the highlighting of historical monuments, along with the broadcast of the Olympic events and related activities, have boosted confidence in the unique character of Paris and its history.

Now, as autumn leaves begin to cover the pavements with their ochre and russet colours, memories of summer fade and give way to thoughts of cosiness and comfort. We want to stay warm while we wait for spring, dreaming of strolls along the quays with bare arms and imagining future cruises on the Seine - discovering the wonders of Paris with friends and family. With the arrival of sunny days in April 2025, the private cruises offered by JP's Boat will be an opportunity to experience the excitement of the Olympic Games and to immerse yourself in the beauty of this city as you glide along the water. Until then, the convivial moments that mark autumn and winter will keep us going – soon it will be time to prepare costumes and pumpkins for Halloween, then do the shopping to celebrate Christmas and its relaxing truce – so that we can start 2025 with serenity.
